INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING

For Performing Arts/Research & Training- First round of conferences 2011
INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT AND LEISURE INDUSTRY
Seminaries and workshop 15 - 17 May 2011

SHOW WAY (BERGAMO FIERA)
The International Festival of Scenic Arts (IFSArts) organises professional training through a network of seminars, internships and workshops, presented in European states, with the aim of promoting work opportunities and acquisition of skills and know-how at a European level between practitioners and emerging architects and designers across the industry spectrum. The themes addressed will be divided into categories encompassing the entire spectrum of the entertainment industry, ranging from production design for film and television productions to theatre and live performance while highlighting the structural and aesthetic differences inherent in projects for recorded and live entertainment. We will also be looking at how architectural structures become fertile narrative terrain for scenic arts in general. This will also be a cue to examine the dualistic aspects of architecture-scenography, to effectively understand the dissimilarities, the contrasts or their parallel aspects and similarities.

The Festival's agenda consists of symposia conducted by architects, scenographers, directors, lighting and sound designers, interior designers, engineers and special effects supervisors and in addition offers opportunities in work experience, a programme of masterclasses and competitions. The themes addressed will comprise scenic construction and planning, stagecraft, lighting design, sound engineering, mechanical engineering, scenery painting and interior design. Particular attention will be paid to the use of new digital technologies applied to theatre design.
